However: there are several reasons behind my not publishing any.
The main is that there are millions of
testimonials everywhere, and no one would expect anyone to publish a negative
opinion anyway.
The other is that I myself never read any testimonial and think that the
space could be devoted to something more useful for YOUR success.
And the third is the actual reason. Never did a single testimonial work for me, so
I prefer to leave the opinion on each individual person without interference.
My worst experience with testimonials: I read or at least I try to read all mail
that comes into my main e-mailbox and look into what I am offered. Once,
at the beginning of my presence on the Net, I received a load of usual spam and
among these, there was an offer for a free book. I collect and study all the books
on my topics, so I immediately collected my free book, two short chapters in fact.
There was an introduction to it, a horrendous piece of anything except a slight bit
of a professional introduction by an esteemed author. It didn't occur to me then that
the introduction was by the author of the spam e-mail. Full of disregard, I
was reading the book - the two chapters, however, simply because I always
finish what I start, to see what it is about and at the very end there was a
tiny little link to the actual author of the book.
Then I realised my mistake and went to see the author. Though I learnt his work,
still learn from him, I am yet full of the disregard with which I first read his
excellent book.
The person definitely wanted to do good to the author but his testimonial did very
bad. At that moment, I decided to never publish a testimonial nor to give any.
