There are lots of companies offering FREE services and comparable tools these days. I would like to mention at least three, offering FREE webspace, webhosting, website tools and even YOUR Internet office:

Namely, all the companies offering FREE services require a bit of promotion and every person that uses their services will happily repay them this way. (I even like and welcome the promotion.)

However, the promotion some companies operate on YOUR pages is so unfair that their services are hardly usable. They force YOU this way to buy their package that can free YOU from their promotion, which is difficult if YOU start with a limited budget.

When making your choice of the webhosting company, be very careful. Some companies start and offer everything FREE, and once you set up your site there, do some promotion and establish a kind of presence, they start to charge you for everything, completely insanely.

In such a case, I recommend to move your site even if it should mean and cause some hassle and delay in your projects. Such a company is not a stable, reliable partner for you to build your future on their services and is not worth your support even if you can afford to pay. DO NOT.

The companies should realise that YOU help them to build their business, even if YOU use their FREE services, and they should co-operate and help YOU to build YOURs. A long-term business relation cannot be a one-way street. Both the parties must be satisfied if it should work. Once a company starts to build their business at YOUR expense, ie they prevent YOU to build YOUR business at the same time, YOU should not stay in such a relation.

When making YOUR decision about a web hosting company, and not only a web hosting company - any company to do business with, watch their support as well. Once no one answers YOUR mails or YOU get rubbish answers from incompetent people, do not start anything with such people. I would not insist on an answer within hours, even a business week is fine but YOU should get an answer clearly showing that a competent person really saw and read YOUR message.

To say a few words about the website tools : There are millions of website tools available FREE, on a FREE trial or paid, good quality. The choice depends on the extend to which YOU plan to get involved in site design, site management, e-commerce. Of course, YOU can manage all of it by YOURself which I highly recommend or YOU can buy it as a package from a company or anything in between.
