5 Common Advertising Mistakes YOU Can Easily Avoid ***************

These 5 common advertising mistakes cause you to lose sales.
But you can easily avoid these mistakes once you become
aware of them.
1. Stop and Go Advertising
Many businesses reduce their advertising when they are
getting plenty of sales. Then they increase their
advertising when sales decline. This pattern of stop and go
advertising creates a repeating cycle of high sales volume
and low sales volume. It also prevents the business from

2. One Shot Advertising
Businesses often devote all of their advertising efforts to
attracting new customers. But they devote little or no

hear or see your sales message. But many will buy later if
you follow up with them. Your follow up can be as simple as
contacting them periodically with a new offer.
TIP: Customers are prospects too. Stay in contact with them.
Find or develop other products or services you can offer
them. It's easier to make a sale to a previous customer than
to someone who never bought from you.
3. Copycat Advertising
Businesses often copy their competitors advertising ideas.
This can be effective for a short time. But results quickly
decline as more and more competitors copy the same idea.
Instead of copying your competitors advertising ideas,
improve on them. Create something better - something your
competitors cannot copy.
For example, give your customers a reason to buy from you
instead of from a competitor. This can be as simple as
including a unique bonus only you can offer - or providing
the personal attention your competitors are not willing or
able to provide.
4. Scatter Shot Advertising
Many businesses get poor results from their advertising
because they reach too many prospects with little or no
interest in what they are selling. This often occurs because
they choose the cheapest advertising instead of looking for
low cost targeted advertising.
Take some time to research and plan your advertising
efforts. Look for ways you can reach concentrations of
prospects likely to be interested in your product or
service. Then design your message to appeal specifically to
their interests and needs.
TIP: Look for alternative media your competition may be
overlooking. For example, many online marketers have started
using direct mail postcards to generate traffic to their web
sites. It's a low cost way to bypass the heavy competition

When we are young we are dreamers. Nothing seems too big for us to accomplish. Nothing seems too outrageous. The world is ours on a string as the old song goes. Until…
All dreamers (who eventually become accomplishers) have heard these things. Yet they overcome them. They refuse to accept someone else’s “reality” for their own life. They let the average people live their average lives, bound by fear, while they pursue their chosen future – their dream! So don’t
believe the people who tell you that you can’t or won’t. Believe your dream. Believe that it can be your future!
Once you have determined that you can actually live your dream, I want you to memorize this acronym. I shared it in an article a number of months ago but I found that it is tremendously helpful for reminding and motivating us
toward our dreams.
Okay, that’s great and motivating, but what about the practical stuff? Well, there is certainly practical stuff. No matter how lofty your dream, no matter how spectacular, you will live most of your life in the mundane. Richard Nixon said of the presidency that you “campaign with poetry, but
govern with prose.” The vision is beautiful, the actual is mundane (not bad but “everyday” so to speak).
If you are to achieve your dream, you need to plan and work and work and plan. Here are my thoughts on how to go about reaching your dream and securing it as your future:
Decide that you will do it. This may seem elementary but many people never decide and commit fully to their dream. They simply keep "thinking" about it. Tell others that you are going to do it. This puts you on the record as to
what you are dreaming about. It makes you accountable. It will help you do it if for no other reason than to avoid embarrassment!
Develop a step-by-step plan. This is absolutely essential. You must sit down and write out a few things:
I have found that there is no better time than now to start making your dream a reality. So, set aside some time today to get started on your dream. Follow the action plan and set your sights for the top of the mountain! You
will be glad you did!

What Are You Planning to Achieve by The End of The Year?

Fast forward yourself to the end of December and as the
year closes, how are you feeling about your achievements
during this past year? Really get in touch with your
feelings, live them, breathe them and don't let them pass
by. Are you feeling any disappointment, regret or
frustration for the things you haven't done or achieved?
Do you find yourself thinking, "This past year has flown
by and what have I done", "There is so much more that I
wanted to do" or "Why haven't I done the things that I'd
said I'd do".
Now bring yourself back to today. You still have time
before the end of the year to get on a track to achieving
what you want. Imagine starting the New Year knowing that
you've been consistently moving in the right direction and
will continue to take the necessary actions.
Lack of planning is one of the reasons why many people get
to the end of the year and feel they haven't achieved what
they want. Planning often isn't seen as a priority or
much fun. Hold on! If it's not fun, that's the way
you've chosen it to be. Instead you can choose to have fun
with your planning and perhaps even make it into a game.
If planning isn't a priority for you, then have you
considered the messages that you're giving to yourself.
Messages such as, "I'm not that important in my life",
"I don't deserve these things" or "I'm not likely to do
what I say I will".
However, the people who do have plans often make them too
rigid. Their plan is stuck to word for word, without any
room for flexibility. A plan that you set today needs to
be open to regular reviewing and changing. A clue that
your plan needs changing is when you find it difficult to
follow through with the actions and don't feel inspired.
You've now got an opportunity to end this year with a
feeling of achievement. Seize the opportunity and make
the most of it.
Start by defining for yourself your vision, dreams and
desires. Make this specific and exciting so that you feel
inspired to follow through with action. You may need to
break this down into smaller pieces. For instance, if you
want to grow your business, there may be a number of
different opportunities that you choose to explore. Now
define the strategies that you'll use, how you're going to
do it. In the example of growing your business, your
strategies may include research, sales and marketing,
increasing employee numbers or finance. Now go through
each strategy and brainstorm possible action steps. Go
for as many as you can, being open to different and
creative action steps, rather than sticking with what you
would normally do. Sometimes the most outrageous actions
steps turn out to be the best and most productive.
Then at least once a day visualize your dream; the
achievement that you want to make and see what you feel is
the next thing to do. Visualizing keeps your plan alive
and you inspired, and allows you to see the right actions
to take. Taking committed action every day moves you
towards your desires. At the same time give yourself the
opportunity to step back and review what you want and what
it will take to get it. Time spent regularly stepping
back and re-evaluating your plans can save you a lot of
time as you see what no longer needs doing, doesn't serve
you or needs to be done differently.
What I want for you is to be achieving and on the right
track to your dreams by the end of the year.
