10 Secrets To Improving Your Website Conversion Ratio

According to the so-called experts, a decent conversion ratio is
right around one percent. In other words, one out of every one
hundred visitors to your website converts to a sale.
Personally, I think you should ignore what the experts say, and
strive to achieve as high a conversion ratio as possible. You
should never be satisfied. You should always be looking for ways
to improve your conversion ratio. My website consistently
converts anywhere from 3 to 5 percent, and often converts as
high as ten percent!
Unless you're selling a big-ticket item and making $100 or more
per sale, it's extremely difficult to make any real money with
only a one percent conversion ratio.
Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, and if your
website is attracting hundreds or even thousands of visitors a
day, then obviously you can do quite well with a one percent or
lower conversion ratio.
But what if you don't have that kind of traffic--and most
websites don't. Then what? What if you're selling a $20 e- book
and you're only attracting a hundred visitors a day to your
website? With a one percent conversion ratio, that means your
website is making a measly $20 a day. And believe me, that's
much more common than you realize.
However, what if you could improve your conversion ratio to 3
percent? 5 percent? All of a sudden, you're making $60 to $100 a
day with the same amount of traffic. Improve your conversion
ratio to ten percent and voila, that $100 a day turns into $200
a day!
So, how do you go about improving your website's conversion
ratio?
Here are some tips that should help:
If you aren't capable of writing that type of sales letter
yourself, hire a copywriting expert to write it for you.
Follow the 10 steps set forth in this article, and your website'
s conversion ratio will improve dramatically--and so will your
profits!

The Game of Tennis... as a "FUTURE MEMORY"
Dr Jill Ammon-Wexler, Peak performance expert
You're out on the court with a friend. She's been burning up the
court with blistering serves. But you've hung in there, and won
the set by returning some great shots.
But now it's your turn to serve.
You try to brush away the memory of the last time you played --
when your serve suddenly went "bad" on you. For some unknown
reason, you just couldn't keep the ball above the net.
You bounce the ball a couple of times, then wind up and toss it
up for a serve. But even before the strings touch the ball, you
already KNOW what's going to happen.
You set your teeth as the ball slams into the net just like it
did last week. You shake your head. "Not again." You moan. "What
has gone wrong?"
And of course, your second serve is almost identical to the
first. This is what tennis players, golfers, and other athletes
call being "off their game."
Being "off your game" in any aspect of life is caused by what I
call a "future memory."
** How Your Mind“Time Travels”
The term "future memories" may seem odd, but it's a natural
mental process. A "future memory" is basically a picture of your
self in the future. And the truth is, you're creating such
memories virtually every day.
There's an old saying: "In life -- we get what we focus on." And
now neuroscientists have discovered the truth behind that axiom.
If you feel that you are "off your game," you reinforce a mental
expectation you’ll continue to be off your game!
Here's what's happening: Your subconscious mind automatically
works to manifest your conscious mental "picture." Your picture
of being "off your game" is seen as a direction from your
conscious mind.
Your subconscious mind instantly "gets the picture" from stored
memories related to that "picture." In effect, it creates a "
future memory" of how you are about to respond -- then sends
actual neural messages to your brain's "motor centers" to
reproduce a tennis serve that will slam into the net.
This occurs because you subconscious mind does not "think" in
the same sense your conscious, rational mind does. It basically
takes "directions" from your conscious mind, and orders your
body to carry out those directions.
** The Scientific Proof
It's important to appreciate the fact that "future memories" are
a physical brain reality. This is not just a psychological
construct!
Years of research by behavioral scientists has proven that
mental rehearsal alone creates actual improvements in both
sports and intellectual activities.
How can this be so?
Recent scientific PET (positron-emission tomography) scans have
provided fascinating scientific proof of the power of mental
rehearsal. Scans have been done of brain activity when only
“thinking” about moving an arm. The scans show actual activation
of the areas of the brain associated with “real” arm movements.
What does this mean? In practical terms, you can use mental
imagery to "pre-program" your mind by "practicing" the positive
effects you want in your life.
** What Happens in the Brain
Neuroscientists have discovered that our brains are not the "
rigid structure" they were once thought to be. We now know that
the brain is "plastic." It constantly changes to fit your
current (and expected) environment.
Your subconscious mind is the product of your physical brain! If
you consciously focus on "future memories" of success, they will
be seen by your subconscious mind as actual instructions.
Your mind responds by building actual neural networks to hold
those instructions. And the more often you send those "future
memory" instructions -- the more stable those positive neural
networks will grow.
** We truly ARE What We Think
So truly, we actually ARE what we think. Positive future
memories can be used to create what you want in your life. This
also has the effect of replacing any old neural networks holding
memories of limitations.
Your daily "reality" is a direct reflection of your future
memories. Whatever you focus on gains neural strength. This
technique has been proven with PET scans to actually build
stronger, more stable physical neural networks.

7 Must Know Tips I Wish I Had Known 3 Years Ago About Online Marketing

1) The importance of a schedule and staying focused. Keeping on
task. schedule promotions. Plan and make a task schedule for
project ideas. schedule purchases -- (don't buy on impulse, the
offer will still be there in a day or so!) -- schedule time (
remember to schedule time for family members as well :o)
schedule breaks from the computer --(not just physical breaks,
take your mind of your business and have some fun, you'll be
more fresh and productive when you go back to work!)

3) Don't try and run an online business with AOL. I personally
have nothing against AOL It is a great service for the computer
illiterate newbie. However, once you get the basics down, you
can be much more productive with a different ISP. AOL does not
allow you to filter email the way it needs to be filtered. When
I was doing my business through AOL,
I sometimes would be dealing with over 500 emails a day. No way
to send them to different folders as in Outlook Express,
MailWasher or many other email programs. Unless they have
drastically changed things in Version 8, it is one of the few
that doesn't work with third party email programs. This just
leads to wasted time and frustration.
4) Speaking of wasted time. Get a DSL hook up. The extra cost is
worth it in the matter of time saved. Instantaneous downloads.
Web pages that come in as fast as the click of a mouse. It means
more productive time spent on the computer. More productivity
means more money.
5) Learn what a great tool Yahoo can be. I have read good
comments and bad, about Yahoo. All I know is from my own
experience. When I first started online, I exchanged a review
for a copy of FrontPage 2002. That practice site has me listed
in the Yahoo Directory. Something many webmasters crave and
drool for.
6) Take the time to learn how to use Ebay. Even if your plan
doesn't entail becoming a powerseller, by putting up a few
auctions, you can direct traffic to your site and increase sales.
7) Don't be afraid to do a press release. I had read many
articles about how they could bring you big traffic. I also read
how difficult they were to get read. I worried about too much
publicity, invading my privacy.
I researched and studied how to do it, and took the plunge. It
worked. The very first time. I got my press released published
at http://www.PRWeb.com
8) Write it down when you think about it. Too often, I have
written an article in my mind. Then it never seems to make it to
paper. Being a single mom of three, I am busy. I have found by
talking into a digital recorder or tape recorder, I can be more
productive.
9) Use that waiting time. This article was generated in my mind
while waiting at a bus stop with my almost 2 year old.
(He was strapped safely in his stroller with a snack, of course :o)

bonus tips.
10) Always give more than you promise. Everyone loves freebies.
Put something for free on your site. It will generate more
traffic. Then incorporate that freebie to generate sales.
Writing articles is a great way to do this. Promote free
articles. After you have written several on the same topic, you
can create a free ebook.
11) Offer it as a tool for webmasters to customize and give away
for free. You can offer this customization for free or charge a
fee for it. Put affiliate links in your ebook articles to
promote backend sales.
If I had known all these things 6 months ago, my business would
be bringing in more sales everyday. Learn from my mistakes so
you can profit faster.
