Top 3 Mistakes To Avoid In Web Presence

Most of the people online seek complicated secrets and strategies to increase the sales from their website and email, completely overlooking simple mistakes which can improve and literally boost the response of their website and email at once.

The following three mistakes are the killers no 1 reliably destroying proper response of any website and business communication:

1. In websites- no links to sign up: this special mistake doesn't seem to be so frequent as others but it's the same annoying.

I come to a site and after reading a couple of paragraphs I decide to sign up. But what a surprise: I can't find any signup link, only lots of links to more and more information. After browsing several more pages I usually leave annoyed.

Tip: the easy solution is to put a signup link in every page plus the link providing more information. This will prevent useless subscriber loss.

2. In websites- huge intro movie: while I like an audio when I come to a website quite a lot, I really, really dislike movies. I usually listen to my music or audios when surfing or digging on the Internet or while I am working, but a movie is a real nuisance.

The biggest killers are the load and the length: it's minutes and minutes of nothing, no information, no message just a movie showing pictures with no relevance, spoiling the audio I listen to and wasting my precious time.

Tip: if you want people to respond to the information you have prepared for the visitors to your site, you must allow them to enter your site quickly in the first place, and not to annoy them with an intro movie.

3. In email- no reference to previous correspondence, no name: this mistake is very frequent. Usually the sender is 'admin', the email talks about a topic I have never heard of and can't find any links or reference to any previous message.

Tip: when you set up your email box/alias, always set up your basic information incl a name which will display in the 'from' field. Plus add a signature and a link. If you respond or continue a topic over several messages, always mention the topic incl a link. Don't believe that yours is the only mail people receive and everyone remembers what you were writing about a couple of days/weeks ago.

Action: Take a couple of minutes, visit your site and try and browse it, simply behave as if you are a visitor plus send a copy of your own email to yourself. You will see it and experience the annoyance.

The three little tips above are easy to implement and can increase the response of your site and email at once.

Basically you should be trying to fill your mind as often as possible with positive thoughts so that they ooze out of your mind. These tips above when practised regularly will help create a pattern of positive thoughts which will become a self-perpetuating cycle and a habit...

Here are 7 quick ways to boost your self-confidence levels quickly and easily. You can use them where-ever you are and in whatever situation you may face. Let's get stuck in straight-away, here they are:

1) No matter how you feel at this very moment, picture yourself in the situation you want to be in. Really see yourself there in your minds eye being successful. If you are going for an interview picture yourself starting that job on the first day going into work happy and confident. If it is success in sport you desire play a movie through your mind of you scoring the winning goal, touchdown or points. In each situation imagine how it feels to be in that situation and hold those thoughts and feelings in your mind for as long as you can.

2) If at anytime you find a negative thought creeping in to your mind, and let's face it, it will happen. Deliberately and consciously let go of that negative thought and immediately put a positive thought into your mind. You might want to put a small photo in your wallet that creates a positive emotion in your mind: a holiday snap, wedding photo, successful business meeting or whatever. Each time you pull it out it will be like flicking the switch from negative to positive.

3) When faced with a problem, start to overcome it by first concentrating on what qualities or positives you do have at your disposal. It may be useful to write a list and make sure to include even the obvious and seemingly trivial positive points that you do have going for you. This will immediately take your focus off the negative thoughts of the problem and onto your own positive abilities. Always remember: 'If you think you can, you can'.

4) Do not give any problem or negative situation anymore credit than it deserves. Do not build the problem up in your mind. Sometimes we build up a problem into a much greater thing than it really is through our fear of failure and worry. Realise the world will not stop spinning if you don't solve the problem straight-away, it may also pay to write the problem down so you can see it for what it actually is...not what you have built it up to be.

5) Find and develop your own set of affirmations that you can use and repeat to yourself at times when you are feeling particularly low. Repeating positive phrases with emotion can help change a negative thought pattern to a positive one. Here is a good one to start with especially if you are a Christian: ' I can do all things through christ that strengthen me' a classic bible passage that really does instill belief. 6) Take a long hard look at your abilities and skills, assess them and their strength. Once you have done this raise your estimation of them all by at least 15%. After all the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts and it is important to develop a healthy belief in yourself.

7) If you have any sort of religous belief then relax and remember the power of the God that you believe in is all around you. Allow his power to flow through you freely and raise your self confidence through him. If God is for you who can possibly defeat you?

Comparing VoIP Providers

For those new to VoIP, it stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and is a telephone service which enables you to use your broadband connection to make phone calls.

There are many telephone service providers offering VoIP, with many new providers entering the market weekly. So, How do you choose the best service provider for you?

Before deciding what provider you need to decide what service you need. Do you just want to make VoIP long distance and overseas calls and keep you current phone system for the rest? Or do you prefer to shift your full phone service to VoIP?

Because VoIP is a very cheap solution for long distance and international calls this may be an ideal option for those who make lots of these calls. In this instant you will maintain your current phone provider, and only use VoIP phone long distance.

You may however, decide you do want to switch entirely to residential VOIP. Be aware there may be issues in calling 911 in this situation and will need to determine the affects of this with the provider you ultimately choose. The three principal providers at the moment are:- Vonage, Comcast and Sunrocket; however, heaps of other telephony corporations are moving into VoIP every week.

In appraising a phone supplier, you should think about a number of things:

Website availability: Can you access the provider's web site? If not, this might be an indication of their service and support.

Support and Assistance: Take a look around the web and see what you can find about the company’s reputation for support. Look at their website and see if you can easily find support and easily use it. Do they offer after hours and weekend support? These are all important things to discover before you sign up.

Cost of Installation: All things being equal it may possibly be advantageous to pick the one with the lowest installation cost. They might then value your business more and provide a better service.

Equipment needed: Will you need to get new phone handsets? How many will they provide? Can you use your existing ones? All important questions to have answered before deciding.

Now that we know what to look for in a VOIP provider, we need to know what to keep away from.

The first tip is to stay away from new, small VOIP service providers. Let someone else use them first lets not be the guinea pig. Telephony and especially internet telephone is not a business where the small providers are going to win, especially not in the foreseeable future. The safest idea is to locate a recognized provider for your new phone service. You can always swap providers later.

Beware that there are many resellers and middlemen in the market. The key here is to know that they will not be providing or supporting your phone service, but will be making a commission for referring you to the end provider.

Changing to a VoIP phone system can be a key decision in your household. With a little research and some logical comparison between the providers, I am sure you can choose one you'll be pleased with.
