Interview With A Traffic Expert
Michael Cheney, one of the most-respected names in Internet
marketing, has been online since 1995 and is the man behind
the 6-Figure launches of AdSense Videos and 11 Days To List

Q. Firstly Michael, thank you for joining
us today in your busy schedule.
A. Hey no problem. Good to be here.
Q. We all know that traffic is important
but could you just explain a bit about traffic for the
beginners out there?
A. Sure. Traffic is the lifeblood of any
business online. Without it you just die. We all know that.
But what a lot of us don't realize is that just like
everything else on the Internet traffic changes very
quickly. That is, the methods of getting traffic are
changing all the time and that's where people get caught
out.
Q. What do you mean by "caught out"?
A. Well people fall into the trap of
thinking that just because they know one or two traffic
generation methods that they are some sort of traffic
master. In reality just because you know how to start a pay
per click campaign or a little bit about search engines
doesn't make you anywhere near a traffic expert. I'm trying
to spread the word that there is a massive array of traffic
tactics that most people aren't even aware of, let alone
using or mastering.
Q. Can you give us some examples?
A. Sure. Offline for example. You might
immediately think that getting traffic is a purely online
activity but the truth of the matter is that there are lots
of things you can be doing offline to get people into your
website. And it's usually these sorts of areas that are
being under-utilized and therefore there is less
competition for that traffic as well.
Q. So by offline you mean advertising offline?
A. Not necessarily. That is one method,
yes, but I'm thinking of more creative ways to get people
into your website. It all comes down to the fact that
having asked people on my list it came as no surprise that
most people want to know about free rather than paid
traffic sources. I've had to become an expert in free ways
of getting traffic in my time online.
Q. What do you mean - I thought you were
running a successful online business with lots of cashflow?
A. I am. But it's not always been this way.
When I first started out in 1995 I had nothing. No money to
play with. Just my own initiative and imagination.
Q. So are you saying you're against paying
for traffic online?
A. No. No I'm not saying that at all. What
I'm saying is that, especially when you first start out,
you always want to focus on the free methods. You get the
traffic in for free, make some sales and then you can
reinvest some of that money into paid methods of getting
traffic. This speeds up the process.
Q. So what particular offline methods are
you referring to - can you give us some examples?
A. There's one tactic I used that costs
nothing to implement, is relatively quick and ended up
getting me thousands and thousands of targeted visitors
into my websites. When I've shared this tactic with other
marketers at seminars they've started laughing and slapping
their foreheads when they saw how easy it was. They were
also embarrassed that they had failed to use this tactic.
It was quite amusing.
Q. So are you going to tell us what this method is?
A. No! (laughs) It's in my course! I truly
believe in rewarding those people that are most eager to
learn so instead of giving away all my traffic tactics in
interviews like this I've put some of them in an E-Book I'
ve written. It is free though if people want to get it.
Q. So how can people get hold of it?
A. It's called "How To Avoid The Top 20

Q. What's in it?
A. Well I really wanted to raise the bar
on a free E-Book so I spent a lot of time creating it. It's

do when it comes to traffic. As far as I'm concerned too
many people out there tell you what you should do but not
what you shouldn't do. That's where this E-Book comes in.

The Right Motivation

Every day more and more new people come to the Net and
receive an easy piece of advice: find a niche, develop a
passion and make millions.
Even though it looks like a complete nonsense and hype, in
its pure nature it is true BUT it's not that simple...
In fact, there is a secret: my own experience clearly says
that you must passionately follow your plan, your star but
this goal of yours must not be money. Ironically, the more
you concentrate on making money, the less you will make.
Your passion must not be making money. You should sincerely,
passionately work for a goal, ideal, dream...
Money is a by-product.
And this gives the answer to the all-present Internet
question: Why do so many people fail?
Easily: if you are on the Net for a while you may notice
that only a tiny percentage of people want really work for
their dreams. They rarely want anything else except fast money
and are ready to buy hype, scam,.. whatever, if only it is
presented as a secret to fast riches.
A little example: if I publish a recommendation for an excellent
tool useful for webmasters to make their work easier, faster,
more automatic, hardly anyone notices. But if I mentioned
half-hyped information related to a stock purchase, thousands
of people are immediately after me, chasing me for more.
I do understand the money chase. No one can live without money,
and I definitely don't say you should but it's the way that
decides whether you succeed or not.
Chasing money can hardly be a profession like chasing your
luck. This chase makes people exhausted, frustrated,...
failures.
The other part of the secret is that the passion for your goal
must be sincere. If you just make yourself do something because
you are told so, it will not work. You won't achieve your goal,
and you won't make any money either.
However, if you become a person burning for a goal, miraculously
you will suddenly attract everything you wish.
In other words, as soon as you develop your working 'success
system', it's only sufficient to fill it with your goals.
I can guarantee every word I say because for all my life I
have always been passionately following a goal, a dream with
no regard to the cost or rewards and I always achieve that
goal, make big money, set up another goal, make big money and
still work long hours instead of lying around on the beach.
Guess why? It's the working passion that drives me, not
the money I make.
But if I ever worked on something just because I had to, it
never brought any big results. Only a tiny example again: if
I write an article because I feel I have to say something or
comment a thing, such an article is always successful. And,
if I write an article just because I need it for my next
ezine issue, it's never up to much, I must admit. If you think
a bit, you will find many sample cases like this in your own
life too, I'm sure.
So, if you are in a situation now that you don't make the money
you imagine, are looking for secrets, chasing fast money
programs, jumping from an opportunity to another with no big
profits anywhere, stop for a moment, revise your thoughts,
your actions and goals, and give your life a different turn.
You will see different results very soon.

How To Instantly Sell 65% More Of Your Products Or Services
Adding language translation software to your website
can instantly increase sales of your products and services
worldwide.

Even though language translation software has been available
for several years now, few website owners are using it.
This is, I suspect, largely because website owners have not
been consistently educated on the tremendous benefits of this
particularly vital tool as well as its idea not having been
widely promoted or publicized. As such, it is possibly considered
more of a website embellishment than a business necessity.
This is ironic because, even though the Internet/World Wide
Web literally presents us to the world via our websites, most
of us simply (and perhaps, naturally) present our site
information in our geographically limited and comfortable
native languages.
Yet, in limiting our sites to our native languages, we are
significantly decreasing our opportunities to not only show our
interest in other cultures and their respective languages, but
we are also eliminating our chances to create lifetime foreign
customers, clients and their respective sales, as well as
limiting our opportunities for true international business growth
while establishing international business relationships.
To support my idea on why language translation software is a
vital tool for any website owner, regardless of the nature of the
site's business or the products or services that it distributes,
as an example, while a good portion of the world speaks the
language of English to some degree, other "first language"
persons would, obviously, prefer and feel more comfortable
with being able to review any website's content in their own
native language.
If you are a natural English speaking individual, simply
consider how you feel when you access a website that is in
a language other than English, and a language that you do not
understand. Comprehension can be a struggle, at best, and
you are very likely to simply exit the site without further review.
However, in this particular instance, this situation does not
only apply to English website owners, but from my experience
of reviewing websites in other languages, it equally applies to
non English sites as well.
However and again, it does appear that cultures outside of
English markets tend to make more of an effort to reach out
to English speaking markets by presenting their websites in,
at least, the English language as an alternative.
Statistics reveal that by not having language translation
software installed on websites, regardless of the sites' native
language or how well the site produces financially, website
owners may be losing as much as 65% in sales of their
products or services that they could otherwise be enjoying
if their site presented itself in multiple languages.
This is because these particular foreign markets are not even
aware of the sites since the single language sites do not make
a proactive effort to promote and publicize themselves to
foreign language individuals. This is a great disservice to both
the website owner as well as to the prospective website visitor.
By default, it is safe to assume that a respectable number of
potential foreign language customers and clients searching
online "accidentally" discover any given site, yet, will pass on
reviewing the site if it is not in their native language. However,
consider the greater chances of attracting those same foreign
individuals as sales prospects or lifetime customers if only the
site were available in their native languages.
In this age of competition and niche market specialization, any
website owner can utilize all of the assistance and information
available to not only maintain their site's sales, but to
continually increase sales as well.
Now, regardless of what you currently earn from your website
annually, imagine what the financial impact of a 65% increase
in online customers or clients, a number of whom are likely to
translate into online buyers, could do for your annual income
compared to previous years.
Also, consider how beneficial your having already established
a relationship with your foreign customers or clients via having
their native language available on your site can tremendously
benefit you should you attend business conventions or other
business related functions in their countries.
At the very least, you will have an immediate advantage over
your competition that has not taken the time to consider the
greatly added value of installing language translation software
on their websites and how it can benefit them dramatically.
