1. Keyword Research - Determine which keywords you are going to
focus on by researching popular keywords for your products or
services. It is often best to focus on specific keywords rather
than broad keywords. The example chart below shows the
difficulty for a siberian husky breeder trying to obtain
positioning for a term as broad as dog where there are more than
37,000,000 web sites competing for that term in comparison to
the term siberian husky puppy for sale which only has 22,600
other competing sites. Not only is that term much more qualified
but it is much more likely to be a term that decent listings
could be established for. Use our keyword research tool to help
determine which terms you will be targeting.
2. Optimize Web Site - Once you have selected the initial set of
keywords the process of optimizing your web site for those terms
needs to take place. That includes but is not limited to
enhancing your site title, meta tags, page content and obtaining
incoming links with anchor text that matches your target keywords.
3. Submit/Index Site - After the initial optimization is
complete your site is ready for initial indexing in Google,
Yahoo, MSN and the other major search engines. The length of
time it can take for the engines to initially index your site
can range from a few days up to several months. We recommend our

4. Analyze Results - Once the initial indexing is complete a
baseline is established to determine your rankings for your

target keywords, re-optimizing re-indexing and then re-analyzing
your results.

The Deadly Sins of Email Marketing
Have you noticed the size of your inbox lately? It’s true; many
major marketers have gone big into email marketing. With the
enormous growth in the number of messages sent, it was
inevitable that plenty of unwelcome bad emails would be going
out at the same time as good and effective ones. Here is a list
of what NOT to do when using email marketing. This information
has been compiled from actual emailed promotions we have
received over the last few months.
Don’t send test messages to your entire email list
Don’t send MULTIPLE test messages to your entire list
Don’t send test messages with unprofessional text just in case
it IS to your entire list
Don’t send out giant untargeted "spam" mailings
Don’t send out HTML emailings with broken links
Don’t send out un-optimized rich media emailings with large
attachments that take a long time to download on a slow modem
connection
Don’t send out HTML mailings accidentally as TEXT
Don’t send mailings to people who have asked to be REMOVED
Violate one or more of these rules and your marketing can
instead become "anti-marketing", causing a negative brand image
and losing potential customers. Email is an incredibly effective
tool, but only when used correctly. Show respect to the
individuals on your email lists, and pay careful attention to
the details of the mailing itself, and you can reap the benefits
of email marketing.
