Top 3 Mistakes To Avoid In Web Presence

Most of the people online seek complicated secrets and strategies to increase the sales from their website and email, completely overlooking simple mistakes which can improve and literally boost the response of their website and email at once.

The following three mistakes are the killers no 1 reliably destroying proper response of any website and business communication:

1. In websites- no links to sign up: this special mistake doesn't seem to be so frequent as others but it's the same annoying.

I come to a site and after reading a couple of paragraphs I decide to sign up. But what a surprise: I can't find any signup link, only lots of links to more and more information. After browsing several more pages I usually leave annoyed.

Tip: the easy solution is to put a signup link in every page plus the link providing more information. This will prevent useless subscriber loss.

2. In websites- huge intro movie: while I like an audio when I come to a website quite a lot, I really, really dislike movies. I usually listen to my music or audios when surfing or digging on the Internet or while I am working, but a movie is a real nuisance.

The biggest killers are the load and the length: it's minutes and minutes of nothing, no information, no message just a movie showing pictures with no relevance, spoiling the audio I listen to and wasting my precious time.

Tip: if you want people to respond to the information you have prepared for the visitors to your site, you must allow them to enter your site quickly in the first place, and not to annoy them with an intro movie.

3. In email- no reference to previous correspondence, no name: this mistake is very frequent. Usually the sender is 'admin', the email talks about a topic I have never heard of and can't find any links or reference to any previous message.

Tip: when you set up your email box/alias, always set up your basic information incl a name which will display in the 'from' field. Plus add a signature and a link. If you respond or continue a topic over several messages, always mention the topic incl a link. Don't believe that yours is the only mail people receive and everyone remembers what you were writing about a couple of days/weeks ago.

Action: Take a couple of minutes, visit your site and try and browse it, simply behave as if you are a visitor plus send a copy of your own email to yourself. You will see it and experience the annoyance.

The three little tips above are easy to implement and can increase the response of your site and email at once.
