Modern hotels, restaurants, shops and cinemas are located on the most famous Boulevard of the city called Kurf~rstendamm. At the end of this boulevard, to the east, lie the ruins of the old church and the new church Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ged~chtniskirche. Other places to visit are the Olympia Stadium, the House of Parliament (built in 1884-1894 by P.Wallot) and the Pergamom Museum. Berlin has a very rich history and is amongst the most important capital cities f the world. It boasts of a rich industrial, cultural, and economic heritage. It is a major tourist attraction as the city has seen great turmoil in the recent past.
