Giovanni Izasmendi It doesn't matter how many times you then to Italy there is always something new and exciting to see or do. Every city you visit has something you need to offer and some new experience, even for return visitors, no matter where you decide to go. It's recommended that everybody visit Rome at least once. This huge city is literally stuffed full of historical sites that you'll want to see. Of course, there is the Coliseum, which is not nearly as new as it used to be. This is not the only Roman site in the city, of course. No matter where you go, it's almost as if you'd stumble across Roman architecture and art that you would not see anywhere else. Since Rome is the capitol city of Italy, it makes sense that this is one city that is very easy to get to. In fact, it is said that all roads lead to Rome. As a result, if you start your vacation in Italy in Rome, you'll have an easy job of getting out of Rome and to the other cities that you want to visit. Naples, near Mt. Vesuvius ~ the famous volcano, is a great place to visit, if you~re interested in seeing historical sites. From there, you can see the ruins at the foot of the volcano, where Herculaneum and Pompeii once stood, before they were buried in mud and ash, in 70 A.D. With so many archeological and historical sites in this city, you may want to visit a different city if these things don~t interest you. Romance, intrigue, and the setting for so many novels through the recent past, the canals of Venice will call you to them, if have have ever seen a picture. It's the perfect place to propose, spend your honeymoon, or even tie the knot. If hiking, mountain climbing, and rugged, natural beauty are more your cup of tea, then you'll want to go to the Italian Alps in the northern part of the country. You won't have to leave the country to experience the great skiing the Alps has to offer. There are many cheateaus and chalets where you can stay, near the border to Switzerland. These are not the only destinations in Italy, of course. By keeping your mind open, you might be able to think of more places to visit that are not listed here. No matter where you go, you'll be able to experience the history and culture of Italy.
